🕹PLAY League #001 - A base(d) format for onchain gaming communities

Ultimately 🕹PLAY Leagues will govern the highest levels of coordinated gameplay onchain. The OG Basedball League on Degen L3 will be the first 🕹PLAY League in existence, aka 🕹PLAY League #001 .

League governance could be fully decentralized to promote fairness, or take an elected league commissioner approach to optimize for efficiency.

Proposed League #001 Format

🕹PLAY Leagues are a base format for onchain games to implement a community building onchain competition.

In the first 🕹PLAY League, 🕹PLAY can be substituted for $Degen🎩, as they will be valued 1:1 in this league. This will also be the case in the AB Arcade, to give more utility to 🕹PLAY. To represent this PLAY/DEGEN peg, we use 🎩/🕹.

The OG Basedball League will be governed by the 30 Team owners, & could operate competitively as follows:

League Fee

• All 30 team owners pay 10K 🎩/🕹 at the beginning of each season (300K 🎩/🕹 pool).

Competition

• Teams compete to earn the max score.

  • Score = total runs x 10(x)game type played. Thanks to fair odds, this essentially reflects total volume played by any team.

  • Teams can have unlimited players. Selecting a team will be a dropdown available to all.

Winnings

• The top 10 team owners (33%) could win 100K 🎩/🕹 from the bottom 10 teams (33%)

  • This means the top 1/3rd of teams will double their initial contribution, and the bottom 1/3rd of teams will lose their initial contribution.

• The middle 10 teams (33%) could be safe, earning their 10K 🎩/🕹 back.

• The bottom 10 teams (33%) would lose their league fee to the top 33%.

• The #1 team could earn an additional 10K 🎩/🕹 from the last place team (30th), with more privileges & penalties implementable as deemed by The League (team owners).

Possible Penalties

• A relegation deposit of 10K degen could be placed by all teams.

• Harsher relegation could result in a team being burnt seasonally, with a new team being generated and sold on the open market.
